Editorial Review

Horizons Restaurant at the Sheraton Mirage Resort Gold Coast provides a truly intimate experience with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the resort's tropical gardens. The elegant restaurant is the perfect special occasion venue, where diners can experience gourmet cuisine, indulge in the extensive wine list and complete the evening with a delicious dessert. Chef de cuisine, Mark Todarello has created an innovative menu to tantalise the tastebuds which features superb modern European-style fare inspired by the best Australian produce.

You might like to begin with an entree of duck with zucchini flowers, pumpkin bouillabaisse or an egotistical lobster burger. The main course selections cover lip-smacking dishes such as pappardelle, pomegranate-infused braised duck and kurobuta pork sirloin. The servings are adequate without being overwhelming and each dish ticks all the boxes from aroma to presentation, taste and texture. The wine list offers a number of by-the-glass choices and a huge selection by the bottle. The up-market style of Horizons encourages diners to relax and indulge. It's easy to take advantage of this and complete the evening with desserts of pina colada pudding, deconstructed tiramisu with poached plum or the chocolate brulee. They are all worth every kilojoule.
